Description
Celebrate 40 years of Dragon Quest with Takara Tomy’s Dragon Quest THE GAME OF LIFE, the first official collaboration between the legendary RPG series and Japan’s classic Jinsei Game board game.
Rather than simply reskinning the traditional Game of Life, this edition transforms the experience into a Dragon Quest-style adventure. Players set out as adventurers, travel across the board, earn Gold, recruit party members and collect items while aiming to become a legendary Hero.
Party members represent seven familiar vocations: Adventurer, Hero, Sage, Warrior, Priest, Mage and Gadabout. By meeting certain conditions during the adventure, players may also change vocation and advance to Hero or Sage.
Along the journey, players can obtain Small Medals and exchange them for Item Cards, encounter familiar Dragon Quest monsters and experience board spaces whose effects may change depending on the members currently traveling with the party.
The adventure culminates in a roulette battle against the Archfiend Zoma, bringing one of Dragon Quest’s most iconic villains into the final stage of the game.
Created as part of the Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary, the game was also selected for an Excellence Award in the Games & Puzzles Category at the Japan Toy Awards 2026.
